Goofy thing about that engine: Eschewed the traditional forked connecting rod because “it limited high RPM performance”, went with a radial-style master-rod and link-rod setup. Radials run at <3000 RPM, generally. (Also, aircraft ALSO use the forked rod setup.)
The conical cam is cool, but like much of the engine, a throwback repainted as modern thinking...
